Gallery Anthony
Gallery Anthony shows the work of resident artists Anthony and Marjorie Smith.
Our gallery is situated near the village of Mullion on the beautiful Lizard peninsula in Cornwall. We have a great love of colour and our walls glow with blues, greens, purples, pinks, reds, yellows and oranges contrasting with stunning black and white.
The gallery is also our studio and working so close to the public gives us an insight into what our customers are seeking.
We take commissions and these are usually based on the images we portray in the gallery. Our artwork ranges from Anthony's seascapes, landscapes, dreamscapes and abstracts through to Marjorie's stylised, organic, natural forms.
We frame our work with conservation mount board in a simple lime waxed moulding.
We both work on oriental papers, particularly an imitation Japanese printers' paper which we use for its high wet strength properties.
We demonstrate on the paper, using NeoArt and Neocolor II water-soluble pastels from Caran D'Ache, to visitors to the gallery and all the art materials are available to purchase.
We believe in sharing techniques that others can take away and make their own. We are on a mission to encourage as many people as possible to use their innate creative abilities.
We print our own giclee prints and cards of our work and can print to order at the request of the visitors to the gallery. We established the gallery in 2001 and it attracts repeat visitors who appreciate our informal and child friendly atmosphere.
As well as selling original fine art, prints, cards, art materials and brushes we also sell books by local authors, ceramics, wood, and glass, all sourced in Cornwall and CDs of the music played in the gallery.
